The main differences between the Long block and the Short block

Short Block - set	Long Block - kit
A partial set of the engine, including the engine block, crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods.	The engine kit includes everything in the Short Block, plus the cylinder head(s), camshaft and valve mechanism.
