VM Motori MR504LS3 LS3 130 / LB3 115 Engine (NEW): Powerful and Reliable Solution
VM Motori MR504LS3 130 HP and MR504LB3 115 HP are new generation marine 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter diesel engines designed to ensure maximum efficiency, reliability, and economy under any sailing conditions. Due to their modern design, dual cooling, and compact structure, these engines are ideal for small and medium-sized yachts and boats.
The MR504LS3 is the more powerful 130 HP version, perfectly suited for sportier sailing and heavier loads. Meanwhile, the MR504LB3 is the 115 HP version focused on economy, lower consumption, and longer operation, maintaining the same design and reliability level. Both models have identical blocks, identical cooling systems, but differ in power management and calibration parameters.
The engine design is based on a 4-cylinder 2.0 L block, which provides sufficient torque even at low RPM ranges. This is particularly important for marine vehicles where stability is critically important. The compact form allows the engine to be installed even in limited engine room space, and the lightweight improves the vessel’s balance and maneuverability.
These engines use a reliable 1600 bar Common Rail injection system, which ensures precise fuel delivery and significantly reduces fuel consumption. It also reduces noise and vibrations, making sailing quieter and more comfortable. The single camshaft and toothed belt distribution simplify the mechanism, increase reliability, and reduce maintenance costs. As a result, these engines are highly attractive to boat owners looking for an economical yet powerful solution.
The engines are equipped with a fixed geometry turbocharger (FGT), which ensures smooth pressure delivery and quick response. This allows for faster achievement of the required speed and ensures stable sailing mode even under challenging conditions. The turbocharger is specifically designed for marine use, offering durability and resistance to moisture and saltwater.
One of the greatest advantages of these models is the modern dual cooling system, which uses separate fresh and saltwater circuits. This not only protects the engine from overheating but also significantly reduces the risk of corrosion. Detachable hoses allow for quick and easy maintenance, even if the boat’s engine room is cramped. This solution is one of VM Motori’s trademarks in the marine segment.
The MR504LS3 and MR504LB3 engines feature excellent stability due to integrated balancing shafts. These shafts minimize vibrations, allowing the engine to operate more quietly, smoothly, and maintain a higher comfort level during longer journeys. This is particularly important for both sailing yachts and motorboats.
These engines are widely used in 20–35 foot motor yachts, 18–30 foot boats, RIB type boats, 25–40 foot sailing yachts as auxiliary engines. They are also perfectly suited for commercial coastal vessels, technical boats, and service boats. Due to their reliability, the MR504 series is a popular choice in both recreational and workboat sectors.
The standard configuration includes a flywheel and its housing, a 12V starter, a 110A alternator, air and fuel filters, a dual cooling system, a stainless steel exhaust gas and water mixer, a freshwater circulation pump, a bronze seawater pump, an electronic control panel with warning signals, and an 8-meter cable extension. The engines are manufactured with a white protective coating resistant to moisture.
Additionally, a hydraulic reverse gear or a flying bridge instrument panel can be purchased if the boat has an upper control station.
Technical data: 2.0 L displacement, 4 cylinders, Common Rail injection, 115–130 HP power, 310 Nm torque, 250 kg weight, emissions – EPA Tier 3, RCD2, IMO compliance.
These engines are a modern, quiet, eco-friendly, and reliable solution designed for yacht owners seeking optimal power, economy, and versatility in one product. The new VM Motori MR504LS3 and MR504LB3 engines ensure long-term stable operation under any conditions and perfectly meet the 2025 marine technology requirements.
